Imagine the rare opportunity to meet these three remarkable women in a single day. The first took on Wall Street, then Congress, then nuclear proliferation and esophageal cancer. The second created the wildly successful Luna bar, built two companies and simultaneously fights human trafficking. The third leads the famous San Francisco 49ers as its chief administrative officer and general counsel, leading the organization to become the first NFL team to commit to interviewing at least one woman and one person of color for every business opening.BIA|Bay Area turns this dream team into reality at its Second Annual Women?s Conference on Oct. 12, 2018, with the announcement of a truly inspirational and spectacular trifecta of women speakers: Former Congresswoman and Under Secretary Ellen O. Tauscher; socially conscious entrepreneur and author Sheryl O'Loughlin; and San Francisco 49ers Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel Hannah Gordon.

In fact, she made such a strong impression that President Obama tapped her to serve as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, a role where she negotiated nuclear non-proliferation deals. But Ellen?s biggest battle came in 2010 with a diagnosis of esophageal cancer, a fight that fewer than one in five survive. Unsurprisingly, Ellen kicked cancer to the curb and today, she continues to serve California through her work on the California Board of Regents and numerous other organizations. Who hasn't packed a Luna bar? or three? for that hike or bike ride? Thank Sheryl O'Loughlin for her leadership as CEO of Clif Bar and Company, where she led the concept development of the first whole nutrition bar for women. Sheryl went on to co-found an organic food company for kids that she eventually sold to Campbell Soup Co. Then she created REBBL, the first plant-based, super herb adaptogen beverage company that works to create regenerative and just supply chains. But she didn't stop there. Sheryl partnered REBBL with Not For Sale, a non-profit dedicated to eliminating human trafficking. Read about Sheryl's socially conscious business philosophy in her critically acclaimed 2017 book, "Killing It! An Entrepreneur's Guide to Keeping Your Head Without Losing Your Heart." Hannah Gordon has shot to the top of the San Francisco 49ers management team faster than a star quarterback racing to the goal line. She began with the organization in 2011 as director of legal affairs, moved to vice president of legal and government affairs four years later and promoted to general counsel in 2016. This is her first season as the team?s chief administrative officer and general counsel, where she oversees legal, public affairs, risk management, community relations, the 49ers Foundation, fan engagement, the team museum and more. In a major victory for diversity, under Hannah?s leadership, the San Francisco 49ers became the first team in the NFL to commit to interviewing at least one woman and at least one person of color for every business opening.
