Crisand Giles, Executive Director HomeAid Northern California
Crisand’s knowledge of Bay Area construction activities started in geotechnical engineering, where she used her degrees in Soil Science and Organic Chemistry to work on active construction sites to meet changing storm water regulations. Her work opened opportunities with the Building Industry Association (BIA) of the Bay Area and Sacramento Region to advance public policies that help ensure an adequate supply of quality, affordable housing that promotes a healthy regional economy.
She has twenty-eight years of experience in public policy and as a forward planner, where she was involved in every level of design and project entitlement for residential and commercial projects with Greenbriar Homes, Pardee Homes, and Shea Homes. Crisand has used that experience to maintain and create new relationships with homebuilders, care providers, and government officials in her role as Executive Director of HomeAid Northern California.
HomeAid's unique nonprofit model mobilizes members of the BIA to give back to the community by donating labor, materials, and expertise to build and remodel dignified housing for homeless families and individuals so they can rebuild their lives. Through the generosity of BIA builders, trade partners, financial institutions, and members of the community, HomeAid Northern California has successfully completed over 50 building projects in the Bay Area!
